About

Educational Philosophy and Goals:

The School of Economics has the following three educational goals, based on the principle of developing human resources capable of dealing with the problems faced by modern society, from the perspective of integration of the achievements of various specialized fields in the social sciences.

  1. We foster human resources with a wide range of education, knowledge, judgment skills and specialized knowledge in economics to deal with various problems accurately and promptly.
  2. We foster human resources who have a strong awareness of problems in modern society and who have the ability to discover and solve problems on their own.
  3. We foster human resources with rich humanity and a strong interest in fields other than economics.

Education Features:

1.Courses

Two courses are offered in the School of Economics. One is the Course in Economics, the other is the Course in Global Economy and Management. You will be assigned to a course in the 4th quarter of the 2nd year.

2.Small-Group Instruction

An important feature of the School of Economics is its consistent use of small classes to facilitate the development of professional skills. Meticulous instruction ensures that practical research and study skills, knowledge about policy evaluation and policy-making, and data processing skills are enhanced, and that students are trained to become talented professionals who possess these skills.

3.Quarter System (four term system)

Furthermore, course subjects in the School of Economics are offered under the quarter system (i.e. the academic year is divided into four terms). This allows students to study intensively during each quarter, and also allows them to devote a quarter to studying abroad.
